Education and Expertise:
After serving 5 years in the United States Marine Corps, I stumbled into this thing called fenestration and now have more than 29 years in fenestration and building enclosure consulting, and commissioning. I entered the industry in 1996 through AKW Systems and Riverview Architectural Products—a contractor and its affiliated window manufacturer—serving a demanding market focused on public work and high-end commercial projects. From day one, it was a trial by fire. Currently holding the FGIA (formerly AAMA) Fenestration Masters Professional Certification (FMPC) and the University of Wisconsin Building Enclosure Commissioning Professional Certification (BECxP). In addition to being considered a Building Enclosure Science Industry Professional.
Enjoying 12 years of fenestration manufacturing – Fenestration, waterproofing, and roofing – engineering/design, installation, lab & field testing, quality control/assurance, and field service. In addition to 17 years of international fenestration/building enclosure, investigations, litigation, owner’s project requirements (OPR), plan review, consulting/ commissioning, wind-tunnel study analysis, fenestration specification writing, thermal analysis, whole building air leakage, and IBC & IECC code expertise. My experience and expertise encompass wood-framed multi-family through high-rise buildings, with consulting/commissioning experience that includes executive leadership of an ISO 17025/AAMA-accredited building materials and fenestration test lab, and Florida Code & Miami/Dade expertise.
